Austin Greenwood is a board-certified Dermatology Certified Nurse Practitioner, presently accepting patients in Dayton, Tennessee.

Austin moved to Tennessee from Missouri in 2008 to attend school at Southern Adventist University. Even before he graduated high school, he knew he wanted to be a nurse practitioner. He received an Associate’s degree in nursing in 2011 and began working at Erlanger Hospital’s Reed Sternberg Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit. While working, Austin studied for his Bachelor’s degree in nursing, which he completed in 2013. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Austin obtained varied experiences as an RN in the ICU, the emergency department, an inpatient psychiatric hospital, and as a clinical instructor.

In 2014, Austin began working on his Master’s in nursing and completed it in 2016.  After obtaining his Master’s in nursing and becoming board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Austin started working with Dr. John Chung at Skin Cancer and Cosmetic Dermatology Center (SCCDC).

Melanoma and its treatment is a particular passion for Austin, as he lost his otherwise healthy father at the age of 51 to metastatic melanoma. As the southeast region of the United States tends to have some of the highest occurrence rates of skin cancer, Austin feels fortunate to have the opportunity to work with patients that have such a great need for skin cancer awareness, prevention, and treatment.

Austin enjoys spending time with his wife, dog, and two cats in their fixer-upper mountain home. His hobbies include working on cars and gardening.
